Kangen Water - Alkaline Water Ionizers Need Not Cost an Arm and a Leg - Here's What to Look At

Please consider this a friendly warning. Alkaline water ionizers made by the company Enagic are very overpriced due to the company's fancy marketing structure. This is known as the "Kangen Water Scam" because they call ionized water "kangen water". They sell their Leveluk model for $4,000. Although the ionizer is a high quality unit, the cost is excessive & way too expensive. You can get an excellent ionizer of equal or better quality for half or even less than half. Most of your purchase dollars goes toward sales commissions paid out to multiple levels of people in the Enagic organization. So, if you are looking for a brand new counter top water ionizer to own, I do not recommend purchasing from a company that is set up as a multi-level marketing business.

The good news is that most companies that sell ionizers are not setup as multi-level marketing businesses. In the resource box following this article, I will direct you so you can complete your research and be assured that you will make a great buying decision.

In order to get the best alkaline ionizer for your money, you will want to look for certain things and answer a few specific questions.

How long has the company been around? I truly would recommend staying with a major brand such as KYK, Tyent, Chanson, Jupiter, and possibly a couple of others. There are other small business owners who sell ionizers for under $1000 by importing units from Asia. Unfortunately, from my experience you are not going to get the quality or the support should something go wrong with your unit.

When looking at ionizer quality, consider these points.

1) How accurate is the water pH level output of the unit? Since the primary health goal of alkaline water ionizers is to be able to drink water having a specific alkaline pH, how accurate is the pH measurement of the ionizer you are considering? When the unit says the water is an 8.5 pH, are you really getting 8.5? Models like the KYK Genesis have sophisticated internal computers to ensure a very accurate reading. Accuracy has a lot to do with receiving real time water flow data. Is the ionizer model you are considering able to monitor and display the exact water flow rate, ensuring accurate pH and ORP levels in your water? This is certainly something seriously worth taking a few moments to consider before buying.

2) Does the ionizer you are considering have a certification or multiple certifications from independent sources? This can provide a clue as to the type of company you are dealing with. For example the Chanson company offers ISO 9001 Certified Ionizers which is a very good thing. They have won awards and openly discuss their entire research and development process.

3) I am almost sure that you are not only interested in drinking healthy ionized alkaline water, but also making sure that the water is extremely purified. Ionizers also are water purifiers. But certainly not all water filters are created equal. The KYK Genesis offers top of the line dual filtration over 13 distinct stages. The Genesis comes with a premium activated carbon filter as well as a brand new specialized media filter to help filter out more difficult contaminants like fluoride. These filters are not only excellent quality, but will last for an extended period of time, way above average. Also some units have electronically monitored sensors that inform you exactly when to change the filters.

4) You'll want to ask how long the warranty is and what exactly does it cover? Is it a full warranty or a limited warranty? And how long will it take them fix a unit an who pays for shipping. Ionizers do not break often, but it does happen so you'll want to plan for the worst.

5) How well is the unit built? Is the ionizer built to last or will the internal parts wear out within a year or two after the warranty expires? Are the plates that create the ionized water mesh or slotted technology? Hint: Slotted plates last longer.

6) Do you want a counter top or under the counter water ionizer?

7) How does the unit get cleaned? Once again the Genesis from KYK has a fully automatic internal cleaning system. You won't have to wait for any inconvenient cleaning discharge cycles.

8) Above all, I strongly recommend that you avoid doing business with Enagic and their kangen water scam!

There are a few other features that many ionizers offer that you'll definitely want to read about, and that have not been discussed in this article. Please refer to the resource box below.

Alkaline Ionizer Facts - The 10 Features of a Quality Ionizer and It's Health Benefits

Image : http://www.flickr.com

An alkaline ionizer is an investment in your health so you don't want to purchase one that won't perform to your expectations and will break down in less than a year. Do your research before you buy, otherwise you may waste your money and your health.

What you need to know before you buy:

1- Only quality ionizers have "solid" titanium plates (not mesh plates). Do not buy an ionizer that has plates made of any other metal. Mesh and other metals will not hold up, leaving you at risk of consuming dangerous metals.

2- The plates should be "dipped" in platinum, not "sprayed" on. Platinum is very expensive so an alkaline ionizer with dipped plates costs more, but it is vital that the plates are dipped so that titanium is not exposed to the water as it passes through the ionizing machine.

3- Maximum plate surface area allows water to be in contact with electricity longer for a thorough charge and so the quality of your water lasts longer.

4- Check the output rate. Many ionizers will only produce a small amount of water at a time. Many shut down to protect against overheating. Do you want it to take you all day to fill up a jug of water?

5- An alkaline ionizer should not overheat! If an ionizer has an overheat protection that means it has the propensity to overheat.

6- Watts of power is HUGE in an ionizer. The highest wattage produces the best ionization.

7- The power supply should be a transformer, not SMPS (switched mode power supply). A transformer gives you a steady and consistent supply of power, giving you the same quality of water at the end of filling up a jug as at the beginning.

8- The warranty is highly important. Does the warranty protect you or the company? What service is available through the company if and when your alkaline ionizer needs servicing? Some warranties are voided if you have hard water (most of the USA does).

9- Research the company. How long have they been in business? Does the company manufacture the product itself or does it outsource the manufacturing? What companies compare their machines to other company's machines and why do you think they do this?

10- How knowledgeable is the representative? Do they truly want to answer your questions and guide you in your research or are they only telling you what you want to hear so they can make a sale?

Your health should be the biggest reason to buy an alkaline ionizer. Not only will it help you reach a desired alkaline state quickly and easily, the water it produces detoxifies and super-hydrates you with every glass. Many who drink alkaline ionized water experience radical improvements in their diabetes, arthritis, cancer, skin conditions, etc. Your health should be your top priority, so don't waste your health and money on a cheap ionizer that will not last.
